Autumn Leaves

The glow of autumn light rests in this piece
which combines warm colours outlining the leaf shapes, and softly
intermixed colours for the background and leaves, giving a lovely
soft texture. A light dusting of powdered glass on the surface and
the outlines of fallen leaves suggests the transition to winter
frosts, and gives a soft tactile finish.

Agave disc in iron stand

Opaque teal glass leaves are set with transparent leaves to offset
the solid nature of the plant form against the whispiness of the
sky. A transparent teal border frames the piece and the bespoke
iron stand echoes the botanical with a leaf-shaped tab.

Opague light teal glass contrasts with translucent
waves of mixed colours drifting across the horizon. I sandblasted
this piece and then fire-polished it in the kiln, so the whole piece
has a soft, relaxing matt glow.
